Study Help and Tutoring

Peer-Assisted Learning Sessions (PALS)

Students who have done well in their courses and completed our training program are standing by to help other students through the tough patches in RDC's most challenging courses. 

FALL 2019 Peer-Assisted Learning Sessions

Acct 102 (Acct 202 and Apro 126 also welcome) (Room 311, DSB):

Mondays 10 to 11 A.M.

Tuesdays 12 to 2 P.M. (except for Sept 17 and 24)

Thursdays 12 to 1 P.M. 

Bus 306 (Badm 111 also welcome) (Room 311, DSB):

Mondays 11 A.M. to 12 P.M.

Thursdays 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. 

Chem 211 (Library main floor, east side):

Tuesdays 3 to 4 P.M.

Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 P.M.

Thursdays 9 to 10 A.M. and 3 to 4 P.M.

Math 202 (Library main floor, east side):

Mondays 11 to 12 A.M.

Wednesdays 3 to 4 P.M.

Thursdays 4 to 5 P.M.

Fridays 10 to 11 A.M.

Stat 251 (Library main floor, east side):

Mondays 8:30 to 9:30 and 10 to 11 A.M.

Tuesdays 2 to 3 P.M.

Fridays 8:45 to 9:45 A.M.

PALS Expectations

Tutors will be expected to 

• Arrive on time.

• Be prepared to help students to the best of their ability.

• Assist in understanding concepts required for the course.

• Not work on assignments to be submitted for marks.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

• Abide by RDC’s Student Academic Integrity and Academic Misconduct policy.

Tutees will be expected to

• Arrive on time.

• Come prepared to each tutoring session by bringing course materials and questions. Tutors are there to support your learning but will not have a lesson prepared.

• Attend class—small group study sessions are not a substitute; they are a supplement.

• Participate as an active group member in each study session.

• Abide by RDC’s Student Academic Integrity and Academic Misconduct policy.

Help for Other Courses

Students who need help in courses other than the ones with Peer-Assisted Learning Sessions are encouraged to:

  • Speak with your instructor. The instructor often has access to helpful resources!
  • Form a study group with classmates. Learn more. 
  • Check online for instructional videos.
  • Find a private tutor. (Not endorsed by RDC. It is your responsibility to find a private tutor that works for you.):
