Research Common @ RDC

The RDC Research Common is a place where faculty, staff, and students can get assistance with research and scholarly activities. Find information on conducting original research and on the supports available for research at RDC.

About the Research Common @ RDC

Located in the Library Information Common, the RDC Research Common is a place where faculty, staff, and students can get assistance with research and scholarly activities. To connect with someone, send an email to researchcommon@rdc.ab.ca. We can offer guidance with:

  • getting started on a research project
  • connecting with other researchers and/or the community for a project
  • designing an ethical research project
  • conducting literature searches
  • writing a research grant or proposal
  • understanding grant requirements (budget, course release, hiring, etc.)
  • presenting or publishing research

The Research Common is a collaborative effort, with involvement from the Library Information Common, the Centre for Teaching and Learning, Applied Research & Innovation, the Research Ethics Board, the Research and Scholarship Committee, the Recognition of Scholarly Activity Committee, and Strategic Planning and Analysis. Our planning group is made up of members from those areas and committees and also has student representation:
