Meet with a Learning Skills Strategist

Help is Available in the Library 

SUMMER 2019: Online scheduling will re-open in late August for September 2019. If you would like to book an appointment, please contact the Learning Skills Strategist directly by email (claire.campbell@rdc.ab.ca) or call 403.342.3136.

Appointments are offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and are about 45 minutes in length.

What Happens in a Learning Skills Appointment?
A learning skills appointment at RDC is a one-to-one or small group (up to 3 students) session with our Learning Skills Strategist. Referrals are not required and the service is free.  

What to Expect:

  • The Learning Skills Strategist provides professional learning strategy assistance and guidance, but will not do the work for the student (e.g. the Learning Skills Strategist will not work on assignments or review test material).
  • Appointments booked online are scheduled for 45 minutes at RDC Library. 
  • Please be respectful and show up for your appointment on time. Failure to show up to your appointment within 15 minutes of the appointment time will require you to reschedule. The time slot will then be made available to another student.

Cancellation:

  • In order to be respectful of the academic needs of the RDC's students, please contact the Learning Skills Strategist as soon as possible if you are unable to attend an appointment.  
  • Please cancel at least two hours in advance by following the instructions in your appointment confirmation email, or by contacting the Learning Skills strategist by email (claire.campbell@rdc.ab.ca) or phone (403.342.3136). This will allow the appointment time to become available for another student.
  • Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without proper notice will be recorded as a "no show".  After two "no shows," it will be at the discretion of the Learning Skills Strategist to allow further appointments for the remainder of the semester.
