Makerspace

The RDC Makerspace is a place to learn through exploration, innovation, and creation.

Recording Studio

     

Located within the Makerspace, the Studio (2006G) is available for audio and video recording. Priority is given to RDC students working on course-related projects. Ensure availability when you need it: book the Studio in advance.

Equipment includes:

  • Computer
  • Adjustable lighting
  • Speak with a Makerspace Technician prior to adjusting the lights to get a brief orientation and to borrow an iPad loaded with the LEDgo app, which can be used to adjust the lighting temperature.
  • Green Screen
  • Soundboard
  • Microphones

A tripod and camera can be borrowed for use in the Studio; book this equipment in advance or ask the Makerspace Technician for details. Other equipment is available for borrowing from the Library Desk on the main floor.

 

Cameras and Equipment

A camcorder and tripod are available for RDC students, faculty, and staff to borrow for 2 hours. A digital camera is available to borrow for 3 days. Book equipment in advance or speak to the Makerspace Technician.

In addition, various models of cameras are available for RDC students, faculty, and staff to borrow from the Library Desk on the Main Floor. Accessories are also available, such as traditional tripods, a flexible Gorilla pod, and a GoPro headstrap, along with other pieces of equipment. See a complete list of equipment here.

Multimedia Workstations

The Makerspace contains three multimedia workstations with specialized software and one scanner.
