Study Help & Tutoring

If you need assistance with any of your courses, please check out the free tutoring services RDC offers.

Free Tutoring at RDC

Peer Tutoring

Knowledge - Wiertz SébastienStudents who have done well in their courses and completed our training program are standing by to help you through any tough patches in your courses. These peer tutors are paid by the college but the service is free to you. * Please note that peer tutors may not be available for every course, but we will do our best to match you up with someone as quickly as possible.

Math Learning Centre

A math tutor, math instructors, and peer tutors are available to help you understand the math-related content of your courses. The math tutor and peer tutors are available part-time, by appointment or on a drop-in basis. Math instructors are available several hours each week for drop-in assistance. There’s no cost, and you can come back as often as you need to.

Writing Skills Centre

If you want to improve your academic writing skills, the Writing Skills Centre can help! Meetings with a writing skills tutor are one-on-one and free. We can help you with:

  • Essay organization and structure
  • Research and planning
  • Developing a strong thesis statement
  • Grammar and punctuation
  • Any other issues related to writing

*Please note that the Writing Skills Centre does not provide proofreading or editing; we cannot “fix” your paper for you, but will provide you with the knowledge and ability to write your best essay!

ESL Tutoring

Through one-to-one and small group tutorial support, the ESL Tutor focuses on building academic language proficiency for English-language learners. Sessions include a mix of grammar instruction, vocabulary development, and conversation/pronunciation.

Tutoring for Academic Upgrading

Academic Upgrading, formerly known as Career and Academic Prep, also offers free tutoring. Below is their Fall 2017 schedule. Call (403) 342-3334 for more information.
